Turner Field, Home of the Braves

This will be a moderately lengthy blog post using Flick’r blog feature. I’ve been trying out 500px.com’s photo service and comparing to to Flickr. I’m using one very significant feature that Flickr has that I haven’t seen in any other photos sites, which is a one-click blog posting action where I click the blog button, type a bunch of mumbo-jumbo and it posts straight to the blog. Pretty nifty.

That aside, this is what you’re greeted to when you enter Turner Field from the parking lots. The sun was on the other side of the building, meaning the side of the building you’re seeing was in shadow. But they’re was a nice sky that I wanted to include with the vibrant sky in the background. What’s the solution?
HDR. It’s something I’ve been familiar with for a couple years, but never got into because I had the notion that it only turned out those high-clarity, awkward looking “technique-type” photos (where you notice the technique first before you notice the photo). So, I’ve been doing some research, using the right software and voila: Turner Field. I think the vibrant sky blends well with the shadowed foreground, making a fairly seamless transition in exposure ranges. I’m pleased with its turn out, as it doesn’t look dated and technique-based. It looks more natural and pleasing, which is much more my style.

I’ve included my Flickr description below. If you’re on Flickr, please add me as a contact. I’m wanting to become more social in these online photo communities.
